how do I feel? - a Romanian lesson

Cum mă simt? - How do I feel?

Dacă nu mănânc, mi- e foame. - If I don't eat, I'm hungry.
Dacă nu beau apă, mi- e sete.- If I don't drink water, I'm thirsty.
Dacă nu dorm, mi- e somn. - If I don't sleep, I'm sleepy.
Dacă nu dorm, sunt obosit.
Dacă văd un şoarece, mi- e frică.- If I see a mouse, I'm afraid.
Dacă e soare, mă bucur.- If it's sunny, I'm glad.
Dacă plouă vara, sunt fericit.- If it rains in summer, I'm happy.
Dacă e frig vara, sunt trist.- If I it's cold in summer, I'm sad.
Mi- e frig .- I'm cold.
Mi- e cald. - It's hot.
Mi- e bine. - I'm ok.

skiing in Romania

Certainly, all this study without fun, how can that be?!

If you are fond of skiing, we invite you to Poiana Brasov. At this time of the year the slope is just great: the snow invites you to slide all day long! A lot of great hotels are also looking forward to welcoming you.

Already thinking about summer? Poiana Brasov is also a place to visit when the heat makes you wish you lived at the North Pole.

one-to-one Romanian course (2)

One-to-one classes offer you the possibility of a fast progress, but they also demand lots of your energy and concentration. During the needs analysis phase, you will be asked to specify your areas of interest, which will allow your tutor to prepare the course (determine the most suitable study plan, choose/develop the study materials, select the vocabulary, etc.). The length of the lessons varies from 1.5h to 4h a day, depending on the program you choose, this leading to a weekly program of between 7.5 and 20 h a week. Upon special request you can also benefit of an even more intensive course, of 6 h a day, i.e. 30 h a week. Weekend classes are also possible upon special request.
These one-to-one courses are available throughout the year.
For more information please write an email to info[at]studyromanian[dot]ro.Looking forward to welcoming you in class!

one-to-one Romanian course (1)

When choosing a language course, another question we are being asked by our students is: what kind of tuition shall I choose?
If we talk here about the Summer School, than we definitely recommend you to take the course together with some other fellow students. Apart from the fact that you will help eachother with the study process, during summer we saw some great friendships developed, and this is also a factor worth being taken into account. And, for sure, the after-study parties are better with a crew...
But if you are a business person, in need of fast language progress, due to your job, we strongly recommend you to take a one-to-one course. The same if you are studying Romanian at University, and you are visiting us for a specialized course.

The one-to-one programs are tailor-made, hence giving you the opportunity to ask for specific information, vocabulary, grammar issues, etc. Moreover, you have your own private tutor, who closely monitors your progress, your strong or weak points, and can help you improve in a really short time.

what kind of Romanian classes?

Good morning! Today we try to answer a question that many of our students often ask: what kind of Romanian classes should I take?

First of all, let us tell you what we can offer:
  • General Romanian language classes: these courses are structured on four levels: absolute beginner, intermediate, upper intermediate and advanced. The language acquired here is a general one, involving every day life issues (food, drinks, restaurants, shopping, travel, work, family, feelings, likes and dislikes etc.)

  • Specialized Romanian language classes: to attend one of this courses you should be at least at an intermediate level. The language taught in class focuses more on your field of expertise (job related, for example)

  • Romanian literature classes: for sure, in order to attend such a class you should be at least at an upper intermediate level of study. This course takes you through different periods of the Romanian literature, and gives you a better view on the Romanian writers and their style.
  • Culture & civilization classes: for this class, you need at least an upper intermediate level, but, upon request, it can also be delivered in English or German.

Now, the choice is yours. It all depends on your needs, whether you come here for business, study or mere pleasure of discovering a new culture. We shall nevertheless assist you in your choice. And don't forget, you can always send an email to info[at]studyromanian.ro for more details.
